Outside the Offices in the School Hallway, WAY Too Early Thursday
Okay, so Vette was a girl on a mission. With that whole hatchet quest going on, she had discovered two things the other night. First, that the teachers were taking this stuff seriously - she was going to be picking confetti from weird places for days - and second, that one of the offices had puppies. And Earth puppies were dumb and adorable, and that she needed about twelve.
So she had broken back into the school. The locks here were kind of comically simple, after all. There really wasn't anything stopping her from just wandering in any time she liked. This morning she was making her way back down the hallway to Zack's office, and then was just pausing outside, listening for the telltale sounds of wiggly puppies within.
... What she heard inside was not puppy sounds. She squinted a little, picked the lock again, cracked the door open just slightly, and peered inside.
A good dozen chickens peered back.
"Nope."
And then Vette was closing that door again.
Dammit.

And when nothing happened there, she opened it the rest of the way and found herself staring at a drawer full of... spiderwebs?
"What."

"Bad. Ass. Bitch."
She'd memorized the look of those words. That was the sound of victory, right there.

Of course there was also the question of there being two people and one prize.

She looked at the hatchet, and then considered Sabine.
"I'm willing to just hand it over to you," she informed her. "I don't want to win this thing. The last thing I need is one of the two competent cops on the island knowing that I actually know my way around a lock and I'm not afraid to carve open a body to get my way. But it could be more fun to just mess with our classmates a little..."

She flipped it over in her hand, considering it carefully, and then grinning.
"You know, there is a really nasty sprung trap that really has no business still having the prize in it."

Which suggested that she was, in fact, absolutely willing to get elbows deep in fake blood packs again just to mess with people, yes.

She was totally going to go diving into that cadaver with this thing, yes.

And trying not to check the time because she still had things to do today. This would be easier pre-job.

"In we go, then! Let's see if we can do this without exploding any more of those blood packs."
Because there was no reason for them to be the only ones to suffer, here.

"True enough," Vette agreed, and... god, that was a horrifying 'schloop' sound as she stuck that hatchet in where the other one had come from.
The accompanying cracking sounds as she shoved the ribs back in place weren't any better, really.
"I love this school. I really do."
She really did not.

"Yeah. It's really fun."
